Certes, les appareils furent bien livr\u00e9s \u00e0 leurs unit\u00e9s. Toutefois, la d\u00e9sorganisation des services du Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM) engendra un retard important dans la livraison des pi\u00e8ces d\u00e9tach\u00e9es n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 ces avions. A d\u00e9faut d&rsquo;un entretien rigoureux, l&rsquo;int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 des Gotha P.60 furent rapidement clou\u00e9s au sol.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4685\/39376711541_379cfaae68_c.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<img src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4685\/39376711681_3279bf62ca_c.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nGotha Go P.60 C (variante \u00ab\u00a0chasse de nuit monoplace\u00a0\u00bb) conserv\u00e9 au Luftfahrttechnisches Museum<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4596\/38509309505_aa7317762d_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4640\/39395273231_e56c33da7e_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nGotha Go P.60 A (chasseur-bombardier) lors d&rsquo;un vol d&rsquo;essai avant son convoyage vers l&rsquo;Afrique du Nord (photos coloris\u00e9es)<\/p>\n<p><strong>DUEL DE CHASSEURS LOURDS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A l&rsquo;issue de la seconde guerre mondiale, l&rsquo;arm\u00e9e de l&rsquo;air fran\u00e7aise \u00e9met une demande pour 300 chasseurs lourds, bimoteur et \u00e9quip\u00e9s de deux canons de 30 mm. Apr\u00e8s une lutte acharn\u00e9e, deux constructeurs furent retenus pour une \u00e9valuation technique pouss\u00e9e : la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Nationale des Constructions A\u00e9ronautiques du Centre (commun\u00e9ment appel\u00e9e SNCAC) et la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Arsenal de l\u2019A\u00e9ronautique (l&rsquo;Arsenal).<\/p>\n<p>La SNCAC, pr\u00e9sentait le\u00a0<strong>SNCAC NC.1000<\/strong>. Ce puissant bimoteur n&rsquo;\u00e9tait autre que l&rsquo;\u00e9volution ultime du Dornier 335, le V14.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4679\/39377195921_f1a736e8be_c.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nLe SNCAC NC.1000 aux couleurs du Centre d&rsquo;Essais en Vol<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4634\/39377196311_d8260e33c1_b.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nL&rsquo;atelier de montage du prototype du NC.1000<\/p>\n<p>Second comp\u00e9titeur, l&rsquo;Arsenal travaillait sur le prototype de chasseur lourd VB10. Malheureusement, la mise au point de cet imposant bimoteur \u00e0 h\u00e9lices \u00e9tait loin d&rsquo;\u00eatre achev\u00e9e :<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.avionslegendaires.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/avion_militaire\/Gvb10-index.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nPrototype de l&rsquo;Arsenal VB.10<\/p>\n<p>Afin de pr\u00e9server toutes ces chances de remporter cet appel d&rsquo;offre, l&rsquo;Arsenal d\u00fb se r\u00e9soudre \u00e0 proposer le chasseur lourd Gotha Go P.60 D, avion qu&rsquo;elle produisait en petite s\u00e9rie pour le compte de l&rsquo;Allemagne. Cette appareil fut rebaptis\u00e9\u00a0<strong>Arsenal VG 50<\/strong>\u00a0\u00e0 cette occasion.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4688\/38500459435_f3977a71ec_z.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4639\/39376711421_86e9d7ef01_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nArsenal VG 50 lors de l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation faite au Centre d&rsquo;Essai en Vol de Br\u00e9tigny-sur-Orge<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNE DEFAITE DOUBLEMENT DOULOUREUSE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Depuis quelques semaines, des rumeurs d&rsquo;annulation de l&rsquo;appel d&rsquo;offre commen\u00e7aient \u00e0 filtrer. Les rumeurs furent confirm\u00e9es officiellement le 30 octobre 1947.<\/p>\n<p>Quelques jours plus tard, la SNCAC fut d\u00e9sign\u00e9e pour assurer la production sous licence de chasseurs De Havilland Vampire, r\u00e9cemment command\u00e9s par le Gouvernement fran\u00e7ais au Royaume-Uni.<\/p>\n<p>Cette opportunit\u00e9 ne fut pas offerte \u00e0 l&rsquo;Arsenal. A contrario, la fin des essais du VB.10 fut notifi\u00e9e par le Minist\u00e8re des arm\u00e9es le 12 d\u00e9cembre de cette m\u00eame ann\u00e9e. Cette nouvelle d\u00e9sillusion marqua profond\u00e9ment le bureaux d&rsquo;\u00e9tudes et la Direction de l&rsquo;Arsenal. L&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 1947 s&rsquo;acheva dans un sentiment d&rsquo;amertume et une profonde d\u00e9ception. Lors du Comit\u00e9 de Direction de fin d&rsquo;ann\u00e9e, le Responsable des Etudes conclut que l&rsquo;aile volante Gotha \u00e9tait une r\u00e9ussite technologique.
